Advent in Poreč 2026: opening on 6 December at 16:30

Advent in Poreč runs from 6 December 2026 to 3 January 2027. Concerts and family events join a free ice rink, open until 10 January.

The opening programme begins on 6 December at 16:30 with the arrival of Saint Nicholas. The festive lights are switched on at 17:00, followed by Marko Kutlić’s concert. A separate start time for the concert has not yet been confirmed.

The main Advent venue is Matija Gubec Square. The organisers also hold events in the theatre, library and museum.

The Zagreb Soloists and Marko Tolja perform at the Christmas concert in Poreč’s theatre on 17 December. The December line-up on Matija Gubec Square includes:

Ice skating and the train from the large car park

The ice rink is open from 6 December 2026 to 10 January 2027, a week longer than the main festival. Skating and skate hire are free. The Advent train departing from the large town car park is also free.

Family activities and the days after Christmas

Children’s activities include shows, workshops and meetings with Santa Claus. On Christmas Eve, 24 December, the organisers serve free cod dishes with a performance by Blues Brajders. Families visiting after Christmas can see the live Nativity on 26 December from 17:00 to 20:00. The following day, 27 December, a competition in preparing Istrian supa takes place from 13:00 to 17:00.

Four New Year celebrations

The children’s New Year celebration starts on 31 December at 11:00. That evening Jole and DJ Mr. Johnny B. perform on Freedom Square, while DJ Hoky and Jinxie Grooves play on Matija Gubec Square. Night Express performs at the New Year reprise on 1 January. Times for these evening performances have not yet been confirmed.
