Teatar Fort Forno performs Jedne lijepe baljanske noći, an original music-theatre piece about Bale, one night under the stars and guests drawn into the story.

The performance is part of Bembo Fest and takes place at Fort Forno. The authors are Marijana Nola and Robert Raponja, with Anastazija Groško, Juraj Devin, Lara Živolić and Davor Tarbuk acting and singing.

Cabaret, vaudeville and a Bale story

Jedne lijepe baljanske noći connects local storytelling, live music and theatre in a form that moves between cabaret and vaudeville. At the centre are Marko and Fani, hosts and masters of ceremony, who welcome guests to an evening on the terrace of Fort Forno. Around them grows a love story in which everyday reality meets fragments from the history of Bale, while the music shapes the pace of the performance instead of standing apart from it. The actors and singers perform arrangements of songs from different musical worlds, from Frank Sinatra and Etta James to Zdravko Čolić, Tereza Kesovija, Bryan Adams and Lady Gaga. The language matters as well: the show is performed in English, so visitors who do not speak Croatian can follow the Bale story while the piece keeps the local character of the place where it begins.

Getting to Fort Forno

Fort Forno is outside Bale’s old town, so the evening is best planned as a short drive to the fortress. From the centre of Bale to Fort Forno there are about 7 kilometres, roughly ten minutes by car. Since this is an evening performance in a fortress setting, arrive a little earlier and leave enough time for parking and entry before the start.
