8th International Guitar Competition Bale-Valle "Live Guitar"

In the beautiful town of Bale, located in Istria, this year will host the 8th International Guitar Competition Bale-Valle "Live Guitar". This prestigious event will gather talented musicians from all over the world who will compete in various categories and provide the audience with unforgettable musical evenings.
Every evening, from July 5th to 7th, 2024, concerts performed by the competitors will be held at Tomaso Bembo Square, creating a unique atmosphere at this year's Bale-Valle Armonica - Guitar Festival.
Categories
Classical/Electric Guitar
The classical guitar, also known as the Spanish guitar, is primarily used in classical music and flamenco, characterized by nylon strings that produce a rich and warm sound. The electric guitar, developed in the early 20th century, uses electric amplifiers to modify the sound, making it a key instrument in rock, blues, and pop music.
Celtic/Classical Harp
The Celtic harp, smaller than the classical harp, has a history of over a thousand years in Celtic culture, known for its soft and melodic sound. The classical harp, often used in orchestras and solo performances, has a wider range of tones and a more complex mechanism for changing tones.
Violin and Accordion
The violin, known for its exceptional adaptability and wide dynamic range, is a key instrument in classical, folk, and contemporary music. The accordion, with its unique sound produced by free reeds, is found in various musical genres, from classical to folk and popular music.
Chamber Music
Chamber music, originating in the 17th century, encompasses performances by small musical ensembles without a conductor, where each musician plays their part, promoting interaction and collaboration among performers.
New section: Flute
The flute, as one of the oldest instruments, is known for its clear and melodic sound. It is included in many musical genres, from classical to modern music, bringing freshness and elegance to every performance.
Artistic Director
The artistic director of the competition is Mº. Claudio Pio Liviero, whose rich musical opus and experience will ensure a high level of organization and quality of this event.
Competition
The categories are divided by age, and soloists can compete without age restrictions. The total prize fund is €15,000, which further motivates competitors to give their best and showcase their musical skills.
