Bale-Valle Armonica: guitar in the center of Bale

Bale-Valle Armonica brings together concerts, guitarist meetings and an international competition of young musicians in Bale.

The fifteenth edition of the Bale-Valle Armonica festival is related to classical guitar, chamber performances and open concerts. The program includes the Gorizia Guitar Orchestra under the direction of Claudio Pio Liviero, the soprano Ivana Sant, the Accordeon Jazz Trio, Emma Castellano and the Monika Bajer Quartet.

Guitar as a festival prop

Bale-Valle Armonica is not just a series of evening concerts. The festival builds a whole small system around the guitar: meetings of performers, performances of different bands and a competition part for young musicians. It is this competitive layer that changes the character of the program, because the audience listens not only to completed concert performances, but also to performers who are still in the process of shaping their own sound. In such an environment, the guitar appears not only as a solo instrument, but also as a link between classical literature, chamber music, vocal accompaniment and more contemporary arrangements. For Bale, this is an important format because the venue does not take on the role of a backdrop, but rather a small festival center where the music can be heard up close.

The program is held at Trg Tomaso Bembo and other Baljan locations. Since the festival started before July 3, it remains in this document only as an event that is still ongoing after the start date.
