On Wednesday, June 25, join us for an evening of children’s theatre and enjoy the play Bajkaonica, performed by the Split-based troupe Ritam igre. The youngest visitors to Bale can look forward to an imaginative and entertaining show inspired by beloved fairy-tale characters.

About Bajkaonica

Bajkaonica was created from motifs of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales and designed as an educational and interactive experience for children. In Bale, the actors of Ritam igre will bring the world of fairy tales to the stage, encouraging imagination, dialogue, and participation in the story.

Independent theatre

Ritam igre (The Rhythm of Play) is an independent theatre troupe from Split, founded by acting students and colleagues from the Academy of Performing Arts. They have been active since late 2018. Their goal is to offer artists creative freedom and the audience a high‑quality theatrical experience.

The performances feature founder and author Ivan Baranović, and actors Monika Vuco Carev, Katarina Romac, Ivana Giove Župa and other collaborators, who together bring theatre to life on both small and large stages across Croatia.

Repertoire and activity

When it comes to repertoire, Ritam igre offers a diverse programme – from imaginative children’s plays to witty comedies and more serious dramas. Among the best‑known titles are Roko i Cicibela, Zavodnici, Hasanaginica and many others. Although they most often perform in Dalmatia, audiences regularly have the opportunity to see them on tours throughout Croatia, and now also here in Bale in Istria.
