Beram - Church of St. Mary of the Rocks

Located in this church is the "Dance of Death" fresco, painted by Vincent of Kastav, which emphasizes the transience of life and the equality of everyone facing death, bringing together kings, merchants, cardinals, and even the Pope. It is influenced by the period following the Black Death. Part of the frescoes were painted over during the 13th century restoration period, but were rediscovered in 1913.
