Hotel Lovac in Pazin: a stay above the Pazin Cave gorge
Hotel Lovac offers rooms in Pazin beside the Pazinčica gorge. From the restaurant terrace, you look across the chasm towards Pazin Castle.
Lovac is a two-star hotel with single and double rooms. Rooms have central heating and a television, and the hotel has its own car park. The restaurant on the premises lets you combine an overnight stay with a meal at the hotel.
You reach the hotel along Ulica Šime Kurelića, on the western side of the gorge. The old town and castle stand on the opposite side, with the pedestrian route between the two sides crossing Vršić Bridge.
The educational trail below the castle
The Pazin Cave educational trail starts at Vršić Bridge below the castle, descends into the wooded gorge and leads to the Piramida viewpoint. It is 1,100 metres long and ends at the car park behind Hotel Lovac. The return route to the bridge follows the cliff edge, so you can combine the walk with a visit to the old town.
Walking the educational trail does not include a visit underground. Stay on the marked route, without descending into the riverbed or the narrow passage at the sinkhole. For a separate outing along the Pazinčica, Zarečki krov is a waterfall above a cave outside the old town.
