Franc Arman Winery in Narduči makes fresh and oak-aged Istrian Malvasia, Teran and Cabernet Franc. Perla Bianca adds sparkling wine to the range.

From fresh Malvasia to oak-aged reds

Comparing the two Malvasias is a useful introduction to the range. The standard Istrian Malvasia emphasises the grape’s freshness, while Malvazija Classic is macerated, fermented with its indigenous yeasts and matured for nine months in wooden casks. Perla Bianca is a brut sparkling wine made by the Charmat method. Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Dolceto from White Muscat complete the white-wine selection.

The reds include Teran, Cabernet Franc matured for a year in large oak casks and Teran Barrique aged for twelve months in barriques. The white blend Le Divine combines Sauvignon Blanc and Malvasia from the 2020 vintage. Il Grande brings together Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Teran and is made only in selected years.

Vineyards in Narduči and Stara Boška

The Arman family has grown vines since 1850. Today, the winery farms 22 hectares around Narduči and at Stara Boška. Malvasia covers about nine hectares and Teran almost six, while the remaining varieties broaden the range of whites and reds, particularly Cabernet Franc, another wine for which the winery is known.

The awards belong to specific vintages. The 2012 Teran Barrique won gold at the 2014 Decanter World Wine Awards, and the 2016 Cabernet Franc received bronze at the 2020 International Wine Challenge. How do you arrange a tasting?

The tasting room is at Narduči 5 near Vižinada, about a 45-minute drive from Bale. Include your preferred date and time, the number of visitors and the required language in your enquiry. A visit is not confirmed until the winery replies, so do not set out without arranging it first.
