Rossi Winery & Distillery: tastings in Bajkini

In Bajkini near Vižinada, the Rossi family runs a winery and distillery. Three private tasting programmes combine a cellar tour, wines from the family vineyards and, depending on the programme, spirits or cocktails.

From Malvasia to Istrian spirits

The family has grown grapes since 1885 and now farms more than 18 hectares of its own vineyards across nine sites. The cellar range includes Istrian Malvasia, Malvasia Templara and Templara Riserva, Chardonnay, Yellow Muscat, rosé and the red blend Moro. The distillery adds biska, medenica, walnut liqueur, Teranino, Epulon gin and Šovran XO.

Three tasting programmes

Traditional includes five wines, a short tour and an Istrian cold platter. Innovative pairs three wines with two cocktails and a tour of the cellar and distillery. Immersive offers a more detailed tour, ten wines and Šovran XO. It is limited to eight guests and led by a fifth-generation Rossi winemaker. The first two programmes last about an hour and a half, while Immersive takes between two and two and a half hours.

Before you visit

The winery is open from 11 am to 6 pm on Monday, closed on Tuesday, open from 11 am to 6 pm on Wednesday and Thursday, and from 11 am to 7 pm from Friday to Sunday. Tastings are private and must be arranged in advance. They are normally conducted in English or Italian; an interpreter can be arranged beforehand. Vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free food must be requested at least one day before the visit. You can send an enquiry by email through the portal.
