Hotel Garden Istra in Umag: family rooms and water park
Hotel Garden Istra in Katoro was renovated in 2026. Families can choose a room with a sofa bed or connecting rooms, with pools and playrooms on site.
The four-star hotel is around four kilometres north of central Umag. The renovation covered the rooms, restaurants and children's play areas. The neighbouring Residence Garden Istra is a separate property with its own room categories.
The walk to the coast leads through the holiday resort. The shore has rocky sections and developed bathing areas.
One room for four or two connecting rooms
In the Family category, up to four guests share a room with a double bed and a 160 × 200 cm sofa bed. Connected accommodation consists of two adjoining rooms with two bathrooms. This gives families separate sleeping spaces rather than sharing one room with an extra bed.
The 45 m² Junior Suite has a bedroom and a separate living area. For rooms with a balcony, sea side describes the orientation, while a sea view depends on the room category.
Pools and playrooms for different ages
At the 1,410 m² water park, children play among sprays and slides in water up to 40 centimetres deep. There are outdoor pools beside it and an indoor pool in the hotel. The water park has a shorter season than the hotel. Poolside loungers and parasols are free but limited, and pool towels require a deposit.
Pepi Club Baby is for children from eight months to four years, and Pepi Club Kids for ages four to twelve. Children up to twelve use the indoor Soft Play room with a parent.
Meals and the hotel season
Breakfast and dinner are served as buffets at the Mediterraneo restaurant.
The 2026 hotel season runs from 17 July to 18 November. Check-in starts at 14:00 and check-out is by 10:00. Parking costs extra and pets are not allowed.
