Fiore: award-winning extra virgin olive oil from Krnjaloža

Fiore in Krnjaloža makes oils from Buža and Istrian Bjelica olives. The Mirković family's Buža won the 2026 Istrian Olive Oil Show in Vodnjan.

In 2017, the Mirković family farmed about 3.5 hectares across three sites, with roughly 1,100 trees. Alongside Buža and Istrian Bjelica, they grew Leccino, Pendolino, Karbonaca and Rošinjola. Some of the olive trees inherited within the family were more than a century old.

In 2023, Fiore's monovarietal Istrian Bjelica earned five Gocce d'Oro and the Lode di Eccellenza at L'Oro del Mediterraneo. The same oil placed second among medium-fruity monovarietal oils at Zlato Istre that year.

The champion Buža of 2026

The 32nd Istrian Olive Oil Show judged 65 samples and awarded gold to 46 of them. The Mirković family's Buža took the championship title.

Kristian Mirković said they began harvesting earlier, processed healthy olives immediately after picking, then filtered and stored the oil properly.
