Lupić family farm: Bembo extra virgin olive oils

The Lupić family farm in Bale produces single-varietal Bembo extra virgin olive oils and Somnis wines. In the tasting room at Trg Tomaso Bembo 14, visitors can compare oils from six olive cultivars and Cuvée, a blend of several cultivars.

The farm covers 30 hectares and has around 5,400 olive trees. Vines, almonds, figs and hazelnuts are grown on the remaining land.

Bembo extra virgin olive oils

The Bembo range includes six single-varietal oils and one blend. Their differences are clearest in a comparative tasting:

• Bembo Buža: green tomato and fresh olive fruit, with pleasant bitterness and more pronounced pungency.
• Bembo Rožinjola: green almond, artichoke and radicchio, with pronounced bitterness and pungency.
• Bembo Puntoža: olive fruit and apple, with mild bitterness and pungency.
• Bembo Bjelica: an old cultivar from Bale, with olive-fruit aromas, pronounced bitterness and moderate pungency.
• Bembo Negrolina: forest fruit, gentle bitterness and a more pronounced pungent finish.
• Bembo Leccino: green almond, freshly cut grass and olive fruit, with moderate bitterness and pungency.
• Bembo Cuvée: a blend of several cultivars, with cut-grass and olive-fruit notes and moderate pungency.

Awards in 2025 and 2026

At Oleum Olivarum 2025 in Krasica, Bembo Rožinjola was the highest-rated oil with 95.5 points, while Buža placed second with 94.4. In April 2026, Bembo Leccino became champion of the 28th International Olive Days in Zadar, scoring 99.95 out of 100.

Tasting and purchases at Trg Tomaso Bembo 14

Visitors can compare oils from different cultivars, taste Somnis wines and buy products from the farm. Visits must be arranged in advance.
