RHEOS: extra virgin olive oils from Dajla
Andrea Brečević makes RHEOS oils from his family's olives near Dajla. He produces three single-variety oils and a Premium Blend awarded in Flos Olei 2026.
From mild Leccino to peppery Istarska bjelica
RHEOS oils differ in bitterness and pepperiness, giving you a choice of bottles to suit your food. The range includes three single-variety oils and a blend of five varieties:
- Leccino has mild bitterness and pepperiness, with fruity aromas and citrus notes. It suits delicate dishes such as fish carpaccio or ricotta.
- Buža has medium intensity and aromas of olive fruit and herbs. Pair it with courgette carpaccio or fresh soft cheeses.
- Istarska bjelica is more bitter and peppery, with notes of freshly cut grass and artichoke. It works well with beef, porcini mushrooms and hard cheeses.
- Premium Blend combines Leccino, Pendolino, Frantoio, Buža and Istarska bjelica. Its pronounced pepperiness comes with green apple and almond aromas. Try it with radicchio or mushroom soup.
The editors of Flos Olei 2026 named Premium Blend the best extra virgin olive oil in the medium-fruity blended category.
Three generations at Kamponovo
The family began growing olives in 1981, when Andrea's grandfather Mario planted the first 60 trees. His father Dušan added another 200 during the 1990s. Andrea studied in Poreč, graduated in agronomy in Zagreb and continued his training in Udine before expanding the groves and developing his own oil production.
All the family's olive trees grow at Kamponovo, on slightly raised ground near Dajla in the Novigrad area. Alongside the Istrian Buža and Bjelica varieties, they grow Italian varieties for their single-variety oils and blend.
Buying the oils and the Borghetto connection

In their summer 2026 collaboration with Borghetto in Bale, they presented the oils as a finishing touch to dishes. At the restaurant, they finished truffle fuži pasta with Istarska bjelica and beef fillet tagliata with Buža.
