Seasonal dishes and handmade pasta
The estate's organic garden supplies the kitchen, and its vegetables also feature in a vegan starter with tomato and basil. The cooks pair local produce with ingredients less familiar in Istrian cooking. White fish ravioli, for example, come with a tomato and coconut sauce and black olive powder.
For a meat dish, you can choose cavatelli with slow-cooked lamb and herbs or a dry-aged Black Slavonian pork chop. The kitchen also ages sea bass, serving it with courgette, saffron and a tomato beurre blanc. The Adriatic catch depends on the day's availability.
Wine pairings and wines by the glass
Two pairings accompany the Summer Symphony tasting menu. Origin focuses on fresher wines, while Estate features aged wines with more pronounced structure. In September 2026, the menu costs €130, with an additional €42 for Origin or €68 for Estate. There is a €5 cover charge and a further 5% service charge.
The wine list includes Meneghetti wines and sparkling wines, alongside other Croatian and international labels, some available by the glass. You can also taste the estate's extra virgin olive oils with your meal. These are used in the kitchen too.
Booking and getting there
Book dinner in advance using the form on this page. From May to September, lunch is served at Oliveto, a separate restaurant on the same estate.
From Bale, approach the estate via the main E751 road rather than the unpaved shortcut from Barbariga that navigation apps may suggest. Parking is available on the estate.
Restaurant guide recognition
The restaurant is included in the Michelin Guide 2026. Gault&Millau awarded it 16 out of 20 points and three toques, while Falstaff gave it 92 points and three forks.

Schönes Anwesen, müssen noch viel lernen!! Vorspeise kam vor Wein und Brot!! Gruß aus der Küche?? Fehlanzeige bei einem Ostermenü von 880 Kunar! Leider wurde auch die Hauptspeise kalt serviert, wurde aufgewärmt - leider keine Alternative angeboten. Nur teuer geht halt auch nicht!
