Bijeca, Medulin
A kilometre of sand and a gentle entry into the sea define Bijeca more clearly than any list of facilities. Children can spend a long time in the shallows, while adults enter the water without a sudden drop.
The beach is in Medulin itself. Its managed section has toilets, showers and changing cabins. Lifeguards operate in summer, when sunbeds, parasols and other beach equipment can also be hired. Seasonal services may change, but the sand and gradual entry remain the beach’s essential features.
A day on sand and in shallow water
One of southern Istria’s best-known beaches becomes lively in summer, particularly when families arrive later in the morning. Bring sun protection, as the trees along the edge do not shade everyone. The drive from Bale takes about 28 minutes, leaving time for a morning swim and a walk along Medulin’s waterfront. Bijeca offers something still uncommon on the Istrian coast: a long stretch of shallow water where there is no hurry to head into the deep.
