Saluga Beach on Veliki Brijun
Saluga has a paved sunbathing area, pine shade and a sandy seabed. Combine a swim on Veliki Brijun with exploring the island at your own pace.
Shore and swimming rules
Steps lead into the water from the paved sunbathing area beside the bay. Sand covers the seabed, while the shore offers paved space for resting beneath the pines.
You can hire sun loungers and towels at the bathing area, and children have a playground by the shore. Saluga is one of the national park’s designated swimming areas. Dogs may not swim at this beach.
Boat from Fažana and exploring the island
You reach Veliki Brijun by boat from Fažana with a national park admission ticket. The Brijuni Pocket Guide ticket is for independent visits. Explore on foot or hire a bicycle. This ticket does not include the tourist train.
Individual visitors on a guided excursion can stay on the island after the tour and return on a later scheduled sailing. Organised groups have separate return arrangements. Cover up over your swimwear outside the bathing area and when boarding the boat.
Lunch in October
In October 2026, Bistro Plaža beside the beach is closed. You can have lunch at the Neptun restaurant in the island’s harbour, where the à la carte kitchen is open from noon to 10 pm.
