Črnikovica Beach in Volosko: shingle and concrete platforms

Črnikovica is a beach in a bay in Volosko near Opatija. Shingle meets concrete platforms, with a sandy seabed along part of the water’s edge.

The beach is at the northern end of Volosko, a coastal settlement in Opatija. The bay lies north of the local harbour, with Obala Frana Supila running above its western side.

The bathing area extends along about 160 metres of coast. Concrete platforms follow the seawall, while a shingle beach occupies part of the bay.

The latest seawater sample, taken on 21 September 2026, was rated excellent. An earlier sample from 1 June that year was rated sufficient, with subsequent tests through the end of the season rated excellent.

Parking above the bay

Plato Črnikovica car park and Črnikovica Street are both in parking zone 1. Parking on the plateau is charged year-round, while charges on the street apply from 1 April to 30 September.

Each started hour in this zone costs 1 euro. Charges apply from 7 am to midnight between April and September, and from 8 am to 6 pm between October and March. From 16 December to 15 January, there is no charge on Saturdays, Sundays or public holidays.
