Valsaline Beach in Pula: pebbles beside Lungomare
Valsaline is a bay in Pula with a pebble beach by the hostel and rocky shores. Mornar, on its northern side, has partly concreted bathing areas.
The pebble beach and neighbouring Mornar
The pebble beach lies at the eastern end of the bay, in front of HI Hostel Pula, also known as Ferijalni. On the southern edge of Valsaline, access to the sea is over rocks. Pines grow around the bay, but their shade does not cover the entire pebble beach.
Mornar has concrete waterfront areas on the northern side. This bathing area and the beach by the hostel share the same bay, with different surfaces and access to the water. The bay opens to the west, so winds from that direction can bring waves.
Walking along Lungomare
On the coast of Pula, Lungomare links Valkane, Gortanova Bay and Valsaline. You can combine a swim with a walk beside pine woodland and rocky shores, away from the old town. A separate pavement runs alongside the one-way road, so Lungomare is not exclusively pedestrian.
Free parking at HI Hostel is for its guests.
