Ravni Beach: pebbled shore and a seafront path below the village
Ravni Beach on Istria's east coast has pebbled and paved sections. A seafront path connects several swimming spots below the village.
Ravni lies below the eastern slopes of Skitača, facing the island of Cres.
Getting there and choosing a spot
A winding road leads through Ravni down to the sea. The car park is above the small harbour. From there, a seafront path continues past paved sunbathing areas and small pebble beaches.
A stone wall follows the path southwards. Where the wall ends, there is a larger stretch of pebbled shore with a dog beach. Rocky coastline begins beyond it.
The seabed and exposure to the bora
At the southern end of the pebbled shore, where rocks slope into the sea, the bottom is initially covered with small stones. Farther out, rocky formations alternate with sandy channels.
This part of Istria's east coast is exposed to the bora wind and stronger sea currents. Avoid swimming and snorkelling during strong bora winds or unfavourable sea conditions.
