Tomaševac Beach in Opatija, below Hotel Ambasador
Tomaševac is a children's beach below Hotel Ambasador in Opatija. A pebbly section of the bay adjoins concrete sunbathing terraces.
The pebbly entrance to the sea lies on the southern side of the hotel complex. Children can use the playground beside the beach, which also has showers.
The Lungomare, the Emperor Franz Joseph I coastal promenade, runs above the bay. Follow it south past Dražica harbour to Angiolina Park in Opatija to combine a swim with a walk around town.
Bathing water test results
The annual bathing water assessment for 2026 at the Tomaševac monitoring point was excellent under Croatian criteria. Nine of the ten seasonal samples were excellent, while the sample taken on 1 June was good. The latest published result concerns the sample taken on 21 September 2026, rated excellent.
