Palud

Palud-Palù is not a beach but a special ornithological reserve. Its value begins where the usual search for a swimming spot ends: in the brackish wetland, reed beds and shallow water where birds find food and shelter.

Roughly 230 species have been recorded. Migrants change the scene in spring and autumn, nesting makes May to mid-July a sensitive period, and winter brings species that remain until their next journey north. The same walk is therefore never quite the same in April, June and November.

How to watch without disturbing

An observation hide and ranger station allow the wetland to be watched from a suitable distance. The best visit is not the one that gets closest to wildlife, but the one that remains still long enough to begin noticing it. Come on foot or by bicycle and follow marked paths.
