Debeli rtič Beach in Ankaran: a small bay by a curved pier
Municipal Debeli rtič Beach is on the eastern side of the bathing area. By the small bay and curved pier, you can sunbathe on a hard surface or grass.
The curved pier borders a small bay with a hard-surfaced sunbathing area. Trees grow on the green spaces behind it, so you can choose a spot further inland for shade. Stone steps beside the sea wall provide one way into the water.
This beach on the eastern side of the Debeli rtič area is separate from the beach at the Slovenian Red Cross health and holiday resort. That complex’s swimming pools are not part of the municipal beach.
From the gravel car park beside Jadranska cesta, you can walk to the beach along a footpath. The road has a pedestrian crossing for Debeli rtič bathing area. People with reduced mobility can also use the renovated path to the shore. This access concerns reaching the beach, not entering the sea independently in a wheelchair.
