Bernardina beach in Funtana: pebbles beside the promenade
Bernardina is a beach beside Perila Bay in Funtana. Two stone groynes frame the pebble shore, with lawns and a coastal promenade behind it.
How the beach took shape
The curved pebble section of Bernardina forms part of the stretch of coast from Perila Bay towards Camping Bijela Uvala. During works in 2016 and 2017, gravel was laid along around 240 metres of shore and two stone groynes were built. These works gave the bathing area its present shape, with the pebble beach in front of the promenade and green spaces.
You can sit on the grassy areas behind the beach. There is a sunbathing area and a beach volleyball court beside the pebble shore. Pebbles do not cover the whole surrounding coastline, which also has rocky sections.
Walking from Funtana and along the coast
From the tourist office at Ulica Bernarda Borisija 2, it is around 900 metres on foot to the central pebble beach. The route follows Ribarska ulica and Put Perila, with the final stretch leading to the shore.
You can continue along the coastal path towards Bijela Uvala. This stretch also includes Polidor beach beside D’Or Beach Club, with a club area for drinks or a meal and a separate sunbed rental service.
