Benedetto lies where the Bale coast gradually opens towards Barbariga. Pebbles in the cove ease access to the water, while rocky edges retain the character of the southern shoreline.
Because of the more exposed position, the sea changes quickly when the wind rises. In calm weather, Benedetto makes a good final point on a tour of the coves south of Forno; in stronger wind, exposure matters more than an inviting empty shore.
Local tracks lead towards the cove and the last section is best covered on foot. The transition from pebbles and rock to low vegetation and a more open coast gives Benedetto its distinct character.
