Valovine Beach in Pula: the pebble bay at Stoja
Valovine in Pula has pebble sections along a rocky coast, with woodland behind. A cable wakeboarding course occupies part of the same bay.
A narrow pebble strip and rocky edges
On the eastern curve of the bay, beside Stoja street, a narrow strip of pale pebbles lies between the sea and the pavement. Rocks alternate with smaller pebble sections along the rest of the shore, so your choice of spot also determines how you enter the water. Water shoes are useful on the rocky sections.
The trees behind the beach do not shade the entire bathing area. Bring your own sun protection for a longer stay on the exposed pebble strip.
Valovine is also a destination for swimming with dogs.
The bay has a wakepark where riders stand on a board and are pulled by an overhead cable. Swimmers share the bay with this sport, so keep clear of the cable route and obstacles in the water.
Getting here from the city and finding Stoja
City bus 1 runs from central Pula towards Stoja. The beach lies west of the road leading to the Stoja peninsula, and the map point marks the pebbly curve beside the pavement. Stoja's public bathing beach is across the road in another bay. Arena Stoja Campsite occupies the peninsula further south.
