Colone

Colone extends along a long, indented coast where organised pebble sections alternate with rock and small coves.

Small headlands and open stretches look towards the islands, while pines and holm oaks provide shade in places. Families tend to choose the easier entries; a few minutes farther on, the coast becomes quieter and rockier. That choice is Colone's main strength.

Getting here from Bale

The timetable for the free tourist train lists the stop as Colona (Porto Bus). The service is seasonal, so check it on the day of travel.

The shape of the coast can make space seem unlimited. It is not: the undeveloped transitions between coves, rock and small woods are precisely the most valuable parts. Reach your chosen place by existing paths rather than extending parking areas or creating shortcuts.
