Forno

Forno is a small pebble break in a rocky shore. It does not have the breadth of a large beach, but a few metres of pebbles make entering the sea easier than from the surrounding stone shelves.

The area of old Fort Forno stands above this coast, so a swim can form part of a walk through the southern shoreline. The final approach is best made on foot, without expecting organised infrastructure beside the water.

Forno is a place on a small scale: a swim, a pause and then a continuation along the coast. In a cove this size, every item left behind quickly becomes part of the view, so the simplest rule is to leave only pebbles after you go.
