Valdoltra beach in Ankaran
Valdoltra is a bathing area in Ankaran with a stone platform and lawn. In summer, reading and cultural events accompany swimming.
The bathing area lies west of Valdoltra Orthopaedic Hospital, beside a beach bar. The stone surface by the sea is used for sunbathing, with a lawn behind it.
In summer, the waterfront stage hosts concerts and theatre for children and adults. From 1 July to 31 August 2026, a free outdoor library also operated at the beach. It had books for young readers and adults in Slovenian, Italian and other languages.
A path leads from Jadranska cesta to the beach along the western side of the hospital fence. Parking at Valdoltra-vzhod costs €1 an hour, while Valdoltra-zahod is restricted to vehicles with the appropriate parking permit. Motorhomes are not allowed to park in either car park.
