Špadići-Materada town beach in Poreč
Špadići-Materada is a town beach on Srgulje Bay in Poreč. Pebble and paved areas line the promenade, with a ramp leading into the sea.
From the promenade along Materada Street, you can walk down to the shore, with houses and apartments behind the beach. Combine a swim with a seaside walk through northern Poreč. You can also arrive by bicycle, and a surfaced street runs along the coast.
Pebbles, steps and a ramp into the sea
The developed bathing area extends for about 400 metres. Pebbly stretches alternate with paved sunbathing areas. In some places you enter the water over pebbles, while elsewhere there are steps with handrails. Families with children can choose gentler entrances rather than climbing down over the rocky edge.
A sea-access ramp forms part of the provision for visitors with disabilities, who also have designated parking spaces by the beach. Accessibility is partial and varies along the shore. Showers and changing cubicles are available.
The town beach and its hotel neighbours
You can hire a sun lounger and umbrella or stop for a drink and a meal by the shore. Equipment hire is charged separately. Dogs are not allowed on this beach.
Further north, the separate Hotel Materada beach follows the small peninsula below the hotel. Špadići-Materada is the town bathing area beside the neighbourhood, while sandy Marea beach lies further south.
Bathing water quality in 2026
At the Špadići monitoring point in the northern part of Srgulje Bay, all ten tests from May to September 2026 were rated excellent. The last sample was taken on 22 September. These results concern that monitoring point and testing period, not daily conditions throughout the bay.
