Sipar Beach, Mošćenička Draga
The main beach of Mošćenička Draga is called Sipar and extends for about 400 metres. Over centuries, a stream carried material down from the slopes of Učka, while the waves shaped it into the fine pebbles found here today.
The beach follows the settlement towards Sveti Ivan, accompanied by a waterfront promenade. It becomes lively in summer, so arriving earlier allows more time for an unhurried swim and makes parking easier. Water shoes are useful on the fine pebbles, and seasonal services are worth checking before setting out.
A day between Učka and the sea
The drive from Bale takes about 75 minutes and introduces a different Kvarner landscape along the way. Sipar is best experienced together with Mošćenice, the historic hill town above the coast: first the sea below Učka, then stone streets and a view from above. That movement from beach to old town gives the outing the scale of a full day.
